Bundesliga
Attacking magician Jamal Musiala said he and his Bayern Munich teammates are determined to help striking sensation Harry Kane reach the Bundesliga's all-time top scoring milestone for a single season.
The current goalscoring record in the German top flight for a single season stands at 41 and is held by former Bayern and Borussia Dortmund star Robert Lewandowski. The prolific Pole set that impressive standard back in 202/21, when he beat Gerd Müller's previous best of 40 from 1971/72.
Now on 31 goals - itself a record for a player in a debut Bundesliga season - Kane is keen to topple Lewandowski to reach the top of the pile. "We're going to try and give him as many passes as possible but I think if Harry Kane wants to break (the record) I think he might be able to," Musiala said after starring in Bayern's 5-2 win against Darmstadt on Saturday.

As well as teeing up Kane for Bundesliga goal number 31 of the campaign, Musiala weighed in with a couple of goals to take his season's tally to ten, with five assists.
Yet celebrations for Bayern's 19th win of the season were slightly tempered with the news that Kane will have to be assessed for a possible injury on an ankle after England's all-time record goalscorer tangled with the goal late in the game on Matchday 26.
"He twisted his ankle in the goal netting," Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel explained, in quotes appearing on the club's official website. "He’s been applying ice to it since. We don't have any news yet. We'll have to wait and see and hope that it’s nothing major," the tactician added.
All concerned at the club will be eager to see their top marksman recover quickly with a Matchday 27 Der Klassiker encounter against Dortmund on the horizon after the international break.
