FULL-TIME!

The final whistle blows and Schalke's UEFA Champions League campaign is over tonight in Manchester.

84' - GOAL!

Bernardo Silva finds Jesus on the edge of the box and he curls the ball into the bottom corner beyond Fährmann's reach.

78' - GOAL!

A superbly taken goal by Phil Foden. Leroy Sane does the work to set it up, and Foden takes the ball around Fährmann in the box before slotting home for his first Champions League goal.

74' - SUBSTITUTION!

Hamza Mendyl comes on to replace Weston McKennie for the final 15 minutes.

71' - GOAL!

Zinchenko finds Sane in the box and he's already looking up and across the box before he receives the ball. He then crosses low to Bernardo Silva, who places the ball in off the post. Schalke have come up stuck here in Manchester.

70' - ROYAL BLUES SHOWING FIGHT

Despite the result looking now beyond them, Schalke are continuing to fight for every ball in this game.

69' - SUBSTITUTION!

Breel Embolo is replaced by Steven Skrzybski for Schalke.

64' - SUBSTITUTIONS

David Silva comes off to be replaced by Ben Foden, while Sergio Agüero comes off and is replaced by Gabriel Jesus for the home side.

56' - GOAL!

Sane swings in a superb cross to the back post and Sterling is perfectly placed to smash the ball home. VAR checks the goal after the linesman had flagged offside, but the decision is overturned and the goal is given.

53' - GOAL RULED OUT!

Sane scores after reaching David Silva's pass and rounding Fährmann to slot home. But the linesman flags for offside and VAR confirms the decision.

51' - SANE GOES CLOSE

A break from the home side as Gündogan's long ball finds the feet of his fellow German Sane, who then races into the box but drags his shot wide. Both Gündogan and Sane were born in the Gelsenkirchen area, where Schalke call home.

46' - BACK UNDERWAY

The second half kicks off in Manchester, can Schalke restore pride before the end of this game?

HALF-TIME!

Fährmann makes another save from Agüero just before the break, and Schalke will be frustrated with how the final 10 minutes of that first half ended. A near-perfect first half an hour from the Bundesliga side, but now it will be a huge task for them to bring this game back into their favour.

43' - GOAL!

It's three now for City as Leroy Sane scores against his former club again. Played in behind McKennie, he shoots low across goal and finds the bottom corner.

38' - GOAL!

Agüero makes it 2-0 for the home side after good work from Sterling in the box. He holds up the ball with his back to goal, before clipping it back into Agüero's path and he forced it in at the near post.

38' - STAMBOULI SHOOTS WIDE

The Frenchman breaks through the middle after winning the ball in the centre of the pitch. With time and space ahead of him, he decides to shoot at goal but it goes wide.

35' - GOAL!

Sergio Agüero dinks the ball down the middle past the diving Ralf Fährmann and the home side take the lead. A long road back now for Schalke, with at least three goals needed.

32' - PENALTY MANCHESTER CITY

Bruma fouls Bernardo Silva as he looks to reach a dinked lob into the box from Gündogan, and the home side have a chance to open the scoring.

30' - SCHALKE LOOK STABLE IN DEFENCE

Tedesco won't mind at all that his side have yet to threaten the Man City goal, when the same can be said for the home side against the Schalke goal. A quiet first half for both sides so far. Remeber, with the score at 2-3 on aggregate, Schalke need to score at least twice to go through.

20' - HERE COME SCHALKE

The first corner of the game one for the away side and it's a chance to apply some pressure on the home side's penalty area. Burgstaller and Embolo have been quiet so far, with City still controlling most of the ball. Neither goalkeeper has been tested until now.

12' - SCHALKE DEFENDING FIRST

The first major chance of the game comes for the home side as Walker plays a perfect through ball behind Oczipka for Sterling. He reaches the near post and cuts the ball back for Agüero, but he puts his effort wide. It's clear Schalke have come here knowing they wouldn't see most of the ball.

6' - SOLID START FOR SCHALKE

Tedesco will be pleased with his side's start here. City are in control of most of the ball, but one counter-attack chance has come the away side's way. It looks like a five-man defence for Schalke, with McKennie at right-back. So far so good.

1' - UNDERWAY IN MANCHESTER

The game gets started in Manchester with Schalke in their bright green away kits for the European night.

SCHALKE FANS TAKING OVER

Royal Blue fans have been making a name for themselves in Manchester all day, with videos on social media showing, once again, the incredible support that can be seen every week in the Bundesliga. There is no doubt that the Schalke team will be supported from the first second to the last at the Etihad Stadium tonight.

"NOT MANY BELIEVE IN US" - TEDESCO

Speaking to television before the game, Domenico Tedesco has said that there is still a chance his side can go through, but not many believe in his side. The Schalke coach doesn't confirm how his side lines up exactly, rather that it also depends on how Manchester City set up.

HOPE IS STILL THERE

The last time Schalke lost the first leg in a Champions League knockout round, they went on to win the return leg, beating Real Madrid 4-3 at the Santiago Bernabeu. That result tonight would see them through to the quarter-finals.

EMBOLO IN FORM

In his first start since the first half of the season, Breel Embolo scored twice in Schalke's defeat at Werder Bremen on Friday. The Swiss forward has suffered with injuries during his Schalke career, but he couldn't be better prepared for tonight's game off the back of his two-goal weekend performance.

NOTHING TO LOSE

With nothing to lose for Schalke tonight being behind 2-3 on aggregate on the first leg, Tedesco is trusting in his forwards to provide a stunning comeback. Breel Embolo - on the back of a Bundesliga brace at the weekend - is joined in attack by Guido Burgstaller and Yevhen Konoplyanka. In defence, it could be a three-man back-line or a four-man one, with two central defenders in Salif Sane and Jeffrey Bruma, but only one full-back in Bastian Oczipka. We'll find out exactly how they line-up when the first whistle blows.
