Neuer back fit for Bayern

Manuel Neuer is back fully fit for Bayern Munich and ready to help them to a 10th straight Bundesliga title after returning from knee surgery.

Neuer has missed Bayern's last three Bundesliga matches following surgery on his right knee, but returned to full action during the week in their UEFA Champions League last-16 second leg against Red Bull Salzburg.

The three fixtures he wasn't involved in were the 1-1 draw at home to Bayer Leverkusen, the 1-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt and the 4-1 victory over Greuther Fürth.

"It's a very good thing that we'll be able to count on Manu again as soon as possible," coach Julian Nagelsmann had said prior to the Leverkusen game.

Thomas Müller also spoke of the difference Neuer makes to the team, given that opponents have a different mindset when up against one of the greatest goalkeepers in history.

Müller captained Bayern for Neuer's first two games out, but was then sidelined himself by illness, missing the game in Frankfurt, where the side was led by Robert Lewandowski.

Leon Goretzka and Corentin Tolisso have also been completing individual sessions. Goretzka has been out since mid-December with a knee tendon problem, but is making progress.

"He's moving quicker again," said Nagelsmann, who has been able to field Goretzka just 12 times in the Bundesliga this season. "I'm happy for him that there are steps in the right direction."

The Bayern coach did not, however, give a timeline for the Germany international's return to action.
