Bayer Leverkusen have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of France U20 winger Moussa Diaby on a five-year deal from Paris Saint-Germain.
Diaby may have had to compete with Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and former Schalke favourite Julian Draxler for a wide attacking berth at the Parc des Princes last season, but he still managed to rack up six assists and two goals in 25 league games.
"I'm delighted to have the chance to gain momentum at a top German club and to develop my game further," Diaby told the official Leverkusen website. "Taking this step abroad to one of the best and most balanced leagues in Europe is really exciting. I'm very curious about Germany, especially the football and the amazing stadiums. And obviously it's great to be in the Champions League with Leverkusen too."
The pacy left-footer, who is equally comfortable on either flank, was in Poland this summer for the U20 World Cup, where he scored in France’s run to the last 16.
Diaby becomes Die Werkself’s second summer signing, following the arrival of Kerem Demirbay from Hoffenheim.
"Moussa is an extremely quick, technically gifted attacker whose qualities are perfectly suited to our playing style," said Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes. "He's only 19 but he's already developed well. He made 34 competitive appearances last season, which is a remarkable amount at a top club like PSG. He's one of France's most talented players and he's got the ideal conditions here in Leverkusen to develop into an absolutely top-class player."
