The Special One: Jadon Sancho celebrates scoring his fourth goal in five games as Borussia Dortmund routed Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday night.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has been hailed a “special player” by Paris Saint Germain counterpart Neymar ahead of the two sides’ UEFA Champions League showdown on Tuesday night.

Sancho has been in imperious form for Dortmund in 2019/20, and his goal in Friday night’s 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt was the 19-year-old’s fourth in his last five matches.

The Londoner has also provided four assists in that run, helping to fire Lucien Favre’s red-hot men to 22 league goals and four wins since the New Year.

Sancho has now taken his tally to 12 goals and 13 assists from just 20 games, with only Timo Werner (20 goals and six assists) involved in more Bundesliga goals so far this season.

And Brazil star Neymar is well aware of the immense threat that a Sancho-inspired Dortmund will pose the French champions.

"Borussia have players that can make the difference. Jadon is a player that I really like to watch play and he is a great player with plenty of quality,” he said.

"Borussia Dortmund is a team with plenty of quality players. They have a special player, who is new but who is very good, whose name is Sancho.”

Dortmund qualified for the last 16 from a tough Group F that contained four-time UCL winners Barcelona, Serie A’s current table toppers Inter Milan and back-to-back Czech champions Slavia Prague.

Sancho scored two goals and laid on two more for his teammates during the group stage, where the Black and Yellows went unbeaten at home (W2, D1).

It is a record that their opposition, led by former Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel, haven taken note of as they prepare for Tuesday’s first leg at the Signal Iduna Park.

“We all know how difficult it will be for us here at Dortmund," added Neymar.

"Without any doubts it will be a great game for those who love football. We are two teams who like to attack, two teams who qualify thanks to the players.”
