Jonas 'Jonny' Wirth has been crowned Germany's best eFootballer after winning the VBL Grand Final 2024 by WOW.
Wirth beat RB Leipzig's Levy 'Levyfinn' Rieck 8-1 in the final of the offline event, played on EA Sports' FC24, to take the indiviual player's title at the Strassenkicker Base in Cologne. The 18-year-old was also part of the SC Paderborn 07 team crowned WOW Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) champions earlier this year.
"After winning the VBL Club Championship, to also win the individual championship is beyond words," he said. "Now I'm really looking forward to the world championship and taking part in the eChampions League for the first time. The day couldn't have gone any better!"

Wirth takes home 40,000 euros in prize money for winning, whilst securing qualification for the EA Sports FC Pro World Championship, where the best players from other national leagues and other international tournaments compete for the FC Pro World Championship title. He will also receive a berth in the UEFA eChampions League.
"On behalf of the DFL, I would like to congratulate Jonas Wirth and SC Paderborn 07 on winning the title," said Jörg Höflich, Head of Virtual Bundesliga at DFL GmbH. "He played a remarkable VBL season, in which he first won the club title with his team and has now also secured the trophy as an individual player.
"At the end of a season, which has seen a huge development in the competition as a whole, I would like to thank all participating players, clubs and partners for their commitment!"
A total of 32 players took part in the Grand Final. They qualified via the VBL Club Championship and the VBL Open playoffs. The prize pool totalled 100,000 euros.
