Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs will pay their respects to late football icon Diego Maradona this weekend.
Maradona, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, passed away at the age of 60 on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack.
The DFL have confirmed that the 36 teams based in Germany's top two divisions will observe a minute's silence and wear black armbands to honour the legendary No.10.
Maradona began his professional career with Argentinos Juniors at the age of 16, and went on to enjoy storied spells with Boca Juniors, Napoli and Barcelona.
The iconic forward also played in four FIFA World Cups, including at Mexico '86, where he captained Argentina to victory and won the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player.
In December 2000, he was named FIFA's Player of the Century, alongside Pele. He featured in Bundesliga legend Lothar Matthäus' testimonial match earlier that year - a game between a Bayern Munich XI and representative Germany side that finished 1-1.
Maradona - who led Argentina to the 2010 World Cup quarter-finals as head coach - is survived by his daughters Dalma and Gianinna, and son Diego.
