Cologne's Jakub Kamiński scored and provided an assist as Poland continued their quest for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 3-1 win over Finland.

The winger, who is on loan with the Billy Goats from Wolfsburg, was making his 24th appearance for Poland against the Finns. It was he who provided the assist for Matty Cash's opener, while he benefitted from Bundesliga legend Robert Lewandowski's creativity to put his side 3-0 up shortly after the break.

While Finland did pull one back, Poland managed to secure all three points and move level with the Netherlands at the top of qualification Group G, albeit having played a game more. The two sides will face off in the penultimate round of fixtures, which could be key in deciding who seals an automatic spot at next summer's finals in North America.

This continues Kamiński's good form at the start of the 2025/26 campaign. His new side Cologne have won both of their matches since earning promotion back to the Bundesliga, with the 23-year-old scoring in the 4-1 victory over Freiburg. He will next be action against his permanent employers Wolfsburg after the international break.
