RB Leipzig's transfer business so far

After a highly successful two-year loan spell, Angelino has made stay in Leipzig a permanent one.
After a highly successful two-year loan spell, Angelino has made stay in Leipzig a permanent one.

With Julian Nagelsmann, Ibrahima Konate and Dayot Upamecano making headline exits this summer, RB Leipzig have moved quickly to reinforce their squad as new coach Jesse Marsch has seen Angelino join full-time and Brian Brobbery arrive from Ajax.

Having played the role of bridesmaids in both the league and cup last year, Leipzig are looking to go one better in 2021/22 and build on their Bundesliga and DFB Cup runners-up finishes.

They will do so without Nagelsmann, who has since moved to Bayern Munich - the team that beat Leipzig to the title last time out.

He has taken Upamecano with him to Bavaria, while fellow centre-back Konate will now ply his trade in England after signing for former Borussia Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool.

This summer's Leipzig reshape has seen highly-rated USA coach Marsch return to the club after a spell as assistant to Ralf Rangnick in 2018/19, this time in the head coaching role.

Another familiar face committing to the Leipzig cause long-term is Spaniard Angelino who has turned his two-year loan from Manchester City into a permanent move.

Benjamin Henrichs has done the same after a successful loan from Monaco, while exciting Dutch striker Brian Brobbey has signed from Ajax and equally tantalising prospect Josko Gvardiol officially joins up with his new teammates as of 1 July.

French defender Mohamed Simakan is another new face, and Luan Candido, Ademola Lookman and Marcelo Saracchi all return from loan spells away from the club.

Hannes Wolf's loan at Gladbach has been made permanent, while Fabrice Hartmann (Paderborn) and Justin Kluivert (Roma) go back to their parent clubs after temporary stays at the Red Bull Arena.
