Record-breaking Bayern a class apart
Bayern Munich's hunger for records is proving as insatiable as ever, with the aptly named Rekordmeister adding a best-Bundesliga start to a season after seven games to their impressive list following Saturday's win against Borussia Dortmund.
A flawless first-half showing in Der Klassiker laid the foundations for Bayern's 2-1 win against BVB, a result that helped Vincent Kompany's men to open up a five-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings.
Although Dortmund upped their challenge after the break, Michael Oliseh's 79th-minute strike essentially sealed a 68th Bayern triumph in what was the 138th competitive meeting between the teams.

Posting three more points on the board also meant Bayern's record of seven straight wins with a goal difference of +23 after the opening seven matchdays represented the best-ever start to a Bundesliga season by any team, ever.
What's more, the Bavarian giants have now stretched their unbeaten top-flight record to 16 games - a sequence that goes back to last season and which is currently the best run across Europe's big-five leagues.
Not content with downing Dortmund on Saturday, the Munich side also equalled the Black-and-Yellows' long-standing feat of beginning a season with 11 wins in all competitions, which BVB set back in 2015/16 under then coach Thomas Tuchel.
With a home fixture against Club Brugge to come in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, Bayern will have the chance to surpass that landmark and make it their very own while they will look to extend their winning Bundesliga run when they visit Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 8.
Perosnal milestones for Kane and Manuel Neuer - who now tops the list of most Bundesliga wins in history - added to a weekend of celebration that will send Kompany & Co. into the coming weeks with morale at an all-time high.
