Schalke

David Wagner (coach): "Apart from the lack of goals, it was an exciting derby. The lads played with intensity and did really well. We had the better chances over the course of the game.

"Nobody would’ve said it was undeserved if we’d won. We didn’t win, so we’re a little disappointed, but, on the other hand, we’re proud of the performance we showed. We can’t forget that this was against Borussia Dortmund, a team that said before the season that they really wanted to win the title. We really kept them quiet and the guys did fantastically.”

Alexander Nübel (goalkeeper and captain): "We didn’t score. We had two big chances in the first half. If one had gone on, it would have ended differently. We’ve improved since last week [2-0 defeat to Hoffenheim] in that we got a point. You saw how on it we were. Dortmund hardly had any chances. It was difficult for them to score because no one was in the box that they wanted to be."

Daniel Caligiuri (midfielder): "On the balance of play, a win would have been deserved. We were dominant in the first half. If we'd managed to score, we would have gone on to win. We're a bit disappointed, but we can live with a point."

Jonjoe Kenny (defender): “It gave me goosebumps with how loud it was coming out today. You can’t hear yourself think in the game so it was a great experience for me to be involved in.”

Borussia Dortmund

Marco Reus (midfielder and captain): "We didn’t do enough going forward. It was better in the last 15 minutes, but we don’t expect that of ourselves. We have to do better as a team. We need to stick together and work on it - but this isn’t Playstation football, it's the Bundesliga. You can’t just play through teams.

“We can’t be satisfied with the performance or the result. The game finished 0-0 and we just need to keep working hard, as we always do. We have a lot of tiring games ahead of us, so we will take the point even though we would have loved to have won here.”

Mats Hummels (defender): "It was a difficult game, we'll take the point."

Lucien Favre (coach): "It was a very difficult game for us, particularly in the first half when Schalke pressed really well and played very aggressively. They're the best team of tacklers in the Bundesliga. They had two big chances, and we lost possession too often. After 60 minutes, we finally started to play. We had three or four good chances. The goal wasn’t far off, but we can accept a point."
