With Shakhtar playing their 'home' matches in the Champions League at Schalke's Veltins-Arena due to the Russo-Ukrainian War, Bayern didn't have too far to travel - but they did take the long road to victory. Kevin scored early with a well-taken strike past stand-in goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, the Israeli making his Champions League debut in the absence of injured captain Manuel Neuer. The Ukrainian champions' lead lasted all of six minutes, though, as Konrad Laimer levelled with an emphatic finish after good work by Thomas Müller and Michael Olise. Leroy Sané had a goal ruled out for an earlier offside and Olise shot wide, before Vincent Kompany's charges forged ahead on the stroke of half-time. Jamal Musiala waltzed past a clutch of Shakhtar shirts and crossed for Müller - filling in for the injured Harry Kane - to nestle a sweet strike into the bottom corner.
Bayern took their time to get going after the restart, with Shakhtar stopper Dmytro Riznyk not made to work until the 58th minute, when Leon Goretzka chanced his arm from range. That sparked the Bundesliga leaders into life as Joshua Kimmich sent over a cross for Musiala to convert on the volley, only for the goal to be chalked off due to an infringement on the goalkeeper by substitute Mathys Tel. Bayern eventually gave themselves daylight with 66 minutes gone. Substitute Sascha Boey was tripped inside the area, and Olise confidently dispatched the ensuing penalty for 3-1. Brilliantly taken Musiala and Olise goals added the gloss as Bayern claimed a fourth win in six league-phase games to climb back into the eight automatic last-16 qualification places for the first time since Matchday 1.

As it happened!
With no real option to pass to, Olise decides to dribble through the entire defence and into the penalty box before tucking it away!
There will be a minimum of four minutes of added time.
Eguinaldo works some space and curls the ball towards the far corner from the edge of the box. Peretz spreads himself and parries the effort to the side.
Musiala goes on a great solo run before he is brought down in the box and is demanding a penalty. He remains on the ground, but it turns out to work in his favour. The play continues, and the ball comes back to him in this exact spot, and so he rises to his feet, dummies a shot at first to create space around a Shakhtar defender and then coolly converts into the bottom corner.
The home side are caught out of possession exceptionally high up the pitch and Bayern look to break. Musiala drives through the middle and plays it out wide to Müller, who tries to pass back into the centre, but there are no takers wearing Bayern colours.
A foul by Traoré leads to a coming together between he and Goretzka, and the pair receive a yellow card each for their troubles.
Bayern have a lot of space to play in down the left, and Laimer seeks out Musiala in the box, but the referee has brought the move to a halt because he believes the attacker has committed a foul in the build-up.
The full-back finds himself free to shoot on Riznyk's goal, but the 'keeper is equal to the effort on this occasion.
Olise steps up to take the spot-kick. He holds his nerve and shoots halfway up the goal on the left corner. 'Keeper Riznyk isn't able to get to the effort and it finds the back of the net.
Boey is fouled on the right edge of the penalty box, resulting in a spot-kick. The visitors have a chance to make it 3-1 from 12 yards...
Kimmich crosses it into the six-yard box from the left-hand side, seeking out Musiala, who is in plenty of space at the far post, and he volleys it in! However, referee Meler saw Tel block the goalkeeper's path just before, and so the goal will not count!
Vincent Kompany has brought on two sets of fresh legs in Boey and Tel.

Goretzka plays it out to Guerreiro on the wing, who turns before passing back to Goretzka. However, his shot from the edge of the box is too central and is a comfortable save for Riznyk.
Kryskiv receives the latest yellow for pulling back Kimmich.
Things have slowed down now after a quickfire start to the second half. Just as was the case in the first 45 minutes, Bayern are dominating possession but are unable to create any gilt-edged chances.
The ball falls at the feet of Traoré following a corner, and his shot appears threatening until Upamecano nods it behind for another corner. The next set-piece causes Bayern some problems, as Bondar gets to the ball, but the away side are able to deal with the situation and put it out for another corner, from which nothing comes.
Bayern play it quickly forward from the kick-off. Sané registers the first shot of the second half, but the effort is well wide of the target.
Bayern kick us off this time as they look to pick up from where they left off, having scored right on the brink of half-time.
Sané wins the ball high up the pitch and forwards it to Musiala, who beats several defenders before playing it across the box to Müller, who fires a low left-footed shot towards goal. The effort wrongfoots the keeper and sails into the bottom-left corner.
Shakhtar get forward quickly after Bayern lose the ball. Kevin is through on the left once again and charges towards goal, before squaring it to Sudakov on the edge of the box, who shoots just wide of the right post!
It gets played to Sané, who is in plenty of space, on the left side of the Shakhtar penalty area. He takes a second to get his shot away and then fires towards goal - but was he actually trying a clever pass? Whatever he was trying to do, it has resulted in the ball trickling past the right post and out for a goal kick.
Guerreiro charges down the right-hand side once more, this time finding a teammate with his cross. It comes to Olise in the centre of the penalty area, and he picks his spot, but shoots just over the bar!
Laimer pinches it off the home side in the penalty box and lays it off to Müller, who passes it on once again to Sané. However, before the ball has rolled into the back of the net, the referee Meler blows his whistle. Laimer was judged to have unfairly won back possession, meaning the goal doesn't count.
Guerreiro's cross in from the right doesn't find anyone initially, but the visitors retain possession, as Laimer looks to drive into the penalty box from the left-hand side. However, as he does so, the ball bounces up onto his hand, and referee Meler awards a foul.
Zubkov wants to speed his side's play up and sends the ball down the right touchline, but the ball gets shepherded out for a goal kick. After a shaky start, Bayern are really starting to get a firm grip on this game.
Musiala puts his skills on show as he knocks it through the legs of a Shakhtar player. The home side will need to keep tabs on Bayern's No. 42 should they wish to take anything from this match.
Müller finds himself in plenty of space on the right and looks to fire a flat cross into the box. However, it goes in between both Musiala and Sané, meaning neither of them are able to get on the end of the promising cross.
Bayern apply the pressure to snatch the ball off Shakhtar. Olise and Müller combine well down the right, and it ends up at the feet of Musiala, who has a go from the right side of the edge of the box. His shot is deflected over the bar by Bondar, and nothing comes from the resulting corner.
The Germany international tries his luck from range, but his shot from the right is too central and is easy pickings for Riznyk.
Bayern are shifting the ball from left to right as they try to break through again, but they are struggling to find a gap. They've given up possession too easily on two or three occasions in the last few minutes.
All square in Gelsenkirchen! Kimmich plays the ball to Müller, who tries to play Olise in behind the Shakhtar defence. He cleverly flicks it back into the path of Laimer, who nails his shot into the top-right corner!
