Six FC Dallas players train with Bayern Munich

The two clubs signed a player development partnership three years ago, with senior USA international Chris Richards the most high-profile youngster to have made his mark with Bayern so far.

Now several more promising American players - Edwin Cerrillo, Justin Che, Ricardo Pepi, Dante Sealy, Brandon Servania and Thomas Roberts - will get the chance to taste what life is like at the 2019/20 treble winners.

The six FC Dallas homegrown talents will train in Munich from 6-29 January, both clubs confirmed on Wednesday.

Midfielders Cerrillo, 20, and Roberts, 19, as well as Pepi, a 19-year-old attacker, previously spent two weeks with the German champions in November 2019.

Defender Che, 17, became the 30th homegrown player in FC Dallas history in October last year, while forward Sealy, 17, was the second-youngest player to sign for the club.

Servania, meanwhile, is a 21-year-old midfielder who has played 30 regular season MLS matches since his debut in April 2019. He also spent 10 days training with Bayern in October 2018.

Richards, who joined the defending German champions on a permanent basis in January 2019, is the most prominent former Dallas player to have spent time in Munich. The 20-year-old defender initially travelled to Germany along with Roberts for a 10-day training stint along in May 2018, and was then signed to a one-year loan deal.

After later penning a permanent contract, Richards helped the record champions' reserve side to win the German third division last season, and was rewarded by making his competitive debut for the first team last June.

The Alabama native has so far made six appearances across all competitions in the 2020/21 campaign, including three in the UEFA Champions League.

In November 2020 he brought his talent to the USMNT team for the first time, coming on to earn his first cap in a victory over Panama.
