Bundesliga
Stuttgart's historic ground became the first stadium to host 1000 Bundesliga matches when Heidenheim visited, with both teams aptly producing a memorable contest.
The stadium has operated since the 1930s and has been a venue of top-flight encounters since the Bundesliga's founding in 1963.
Countless memorable moments have been enjoyed over the years at the home of the five-time German champions and there were more thrills and spills on the occasion of 1,000th game, a mesmerising 3-3 draw between the hosts and visitors Heidenheim.
Indeed, VfB's current campaign, which sees the Swabians challenging for a top-four finish, is certainly up there with the best of them.

While VfB Stuttgart have not themselves contested as many as 1,000 Bundesliga matches, the MHP Arena has also been used by Stuttgarter Kickers - who were in the top flight in 1988/89 and 1991/92.
