Bayern Munich's iconic, one-club man has committed his future to the club for a further year after Thomas Müller penned fresh terms until 2025.
Having joined the club as a 10-year-old in 2000, Müller will now extend his association with the Bavarian giants to a minimum of 25 years.
The 34-year-old has gone on to win 32 trophies with Bayern, including a record 12 Bundesliga titles, six DFB Cups, and both the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup twice.
His illustrious career at Bayern, has seen Müller set the record for most Bundesliga wins in the club's history and become just the third player ever - alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Iker Casillas - to win at least 100 Champions League games.
"I’m happy my journey at Bayern is continuing. I want to play my part in us remaining successful, both as a team and the whole club," Müller said of his decision to renew once more. "It’s important to me to be a foundation and to help steer the team in the right direction. I want to excite our fans with goals, helping create goals, my love of the game, my passion for football – and hopefully with many more titles."
CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen added: "Thomas showed once again on Sunday [against VfB Stuttgart] just how valuable he is to our team. He’s unique to Bayern as a player, a person and a figure of identification. Someone who never hides away, even when it might hurt, who always leads with full motivation. He’s also a great communicator, who’s always good for a quote and enjoys his work. Müller remains the ‘M’ in ‘Mia san Mia’. We don’t just wish him an extremely successful time at Bayern but also with the national team."
Müller also became a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014, while he is his country's fourth most capped player (126 caps) and sixth highest goalscorer (45) in history.
He has redefined modern football with his creation of the Raumdeuter role and continues to be a key figure in the Bayern and Germany setups, featuring in all-but six of a possible 30 games in all competitions for both club and country this term.

"Thomas Müller belongs to Bayern like the Frauenkirche to Munich," said club president Herbert Hainer. "He was born just outside the city, grew up at this club and is already a legend while still playing. Very few players achieve that. His career is littered with records in the history books. Bayern has been shaped by many people, and there will never again be a player like Thomas Müller."
Sporting director Christoph Freund also commented: "We’re very pleased that Thomas will be staying at Bayern for another season. He’s a leader both on and off the pitch, always a role model and incredibly valuable for the entire team. Thomas pushes every team with his open and positive manner on and off the pitch. The way he plays is extremely clever, for the team, and he’s very versatile in where he can play. Thomas is also almost never injured, always there – just quality and reliability personified."
Müller, who is already second on Bayern's all-time appearance list behind Sepp Maier (706) is in line to play his 685th competitive match for the club's first team on Wednesday as Bayern close out 2023 away at Wolfsburg.
