VfB Stuttgart have secured the signing of Tiago Tomás on a permanent deal from Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg.
It will be a second spell in Stuttgart for Tomás, who initially joined the club on an 18-month loan in January 2022 from boyhood club Sporting Lisbon in his native Portugal.
“I’m really happy to able to play for VfB again," Tomás said. "I’m delighted that the transfer worked out and I’m looking forward to being part of the whole team. The club has developed greatly since my first time here. I want to contribute with my performances so that we can achieve our new objectives and be successful together.”
He scored seven goals in 41 appearances for Stuttgart during that time, before securing a permanent move to Wolfsburg in summer 2023.
The 23-year-old featured in 65 competitive outings in his two-year stay at the Wolves, contributing nine goals and six assists.
“Tiago has a lot of qualities," said Stuttgart sporting director Christian Gentner. "He’s quick, a good dribbler and has superb technique. Not only do his abilities mean he is very well suited to our style of play, but he will also make our attacks much more varied and therefore more effective. On top of that, he is a positive and open person who will integrate into our group without needing any time to settle in."
