Bundesliga

Hamburg head coach Merlin Polzin has provided an update on Davie Selke after the expiration of the German striker's contract on 1 July.
Selke's league-leading 22 goals helped propel Hamburg back into the Bundesliga after seven years in the second tier at the end of 2024/25, but it remains to be seen whether the former Werder Bremen, RB Leipzig, Hertha Berlin and Cologne man - who turns 31 in January 2026 - will be playing for the club in the new campaign.
"We all know what we had in Davie last year - not just on the pitch, but off it as well," Polzin told media after HSV began pre-season training this week. "We need a little more time to be able to give you more [information]. We're talking to him and the club management."

Hamburg begin the 2025/26 season with a trip to fourth-tier Pirmasens in the DFB Cup first round on 16 August, before visiting Borussia Mönchengladbach a week later in their first Bundesliga fixture since May 2018.
The Red Shorts already have veteran striker Robert Glatzel and 23-year-old talent Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer on the books, and recently completed the signing of French forward Rayan Philippe from Bundesliga 2 outfit Eintracht Braunschweig.
