Wolfsburg have reunited Felix Nmecha with his brother Lukas, signing the 20-year-old midfielder from Manchester City on a three-year contract.

The Wolves signed up German U21 international Lukas Nmecha on a four-year deal less than a week ago and they have now returned to Manchester City to recruit his two-year younger brother Felix.

"Felix is a player who fits the bill perfectly of what we were searching for," said Wolfsburg's sporting director Marcel Schäfer. "He's young, highly talented, is keen to learn and is ready to perform and be a team player.

"He can now take the next step in his development and we will support him in ensuring that happens here in Wolfsburg."

The 20-year-old joined Manchester City's academy in 2008 and rose through the age groups before becoming a member of their senior and reserve squads, debuting for the first team in January 2019 in an English League Cup semi-final tie with Burton Albion.

He also featured in the UEFA Champions League against Olympiacos with former Bayern Munich coach and current City manager Pep Guardiola clearly thinking highly of a player who has already represented England at U19 level.

With such fierce competition for places in the City first team, Nmecha has opted to follow his brother to the Bundesliga, where he is hoping for regular game time under Mark van Bommel.

"I'm delighted to be here and would like to thank Wolfsburg for the faith they have shown in me," Nmecha said. "I'm ready to give my best for the team and be successful."
