Aged 16 years and 28 days, Borussia Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko has become the youngest goalscorer in Bundesliga history with his strike against Union Berlin
Starting in the German capital and making only his third appearance since becoming the Bundesliga's greenest debutant, Moukoko had already had a couple of sights of goal, even striking a post late in the first half.
He finally found a way past Andreas Luthe - and how! - on the hour mark when Raphael Guerreiro played the ball into the left side of the penalty area, and Moukoko smashed a ferocious shot between the Union 'keeper and the near post to make Bundesliga history.
"Youssoufa played a really good game," said interim Dortmund coach Edin Terzic to bundesliga.com after the game. "The goal that he scored. He had one or two good opportunities where he didn't get the ball in the first half, then he had a good clear chance and even scored. So we're talking about four chances he had and so we're very happy with his performance."
Moukoko unseats Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz, who was 17 years and 34 days old when he steered past Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer on Matchday 30 of the Bundesliga 2019/20 campaign.
The previous record holder was Nuri Sahin, who Moukoko also eclipses in the Dortmund record books. The former BVB midfielder opened his Bundesliga account in November 2005 at the tender age of 17 years and 84 days.

"Of course, I am happy for him for his first goal," Dortmund teammate Axel Witsel told bundesliga.com. "I'm sure he's going to be brilliant for the team and for the future of the club."
Moukoko, who was born in Cameroon but moved to Germany at the age of 10, has been making waves ever since swapping St. Pauli for Dortmund in summer 2016.
Representing BVB's U17s at 13, and their U19s between the ages of 14 and 16, he registered 141 goals and 27 assists in just 88 games at youth level, before taking advantage of a DFL rule change on the minimum age requirement of players in the Bundesliga, and debuting the day after his 16th birthday.
